Transforming Biowaste To Feed Polymer Supply Chains

Link 2 Energy - RGB

Link2Energy Ltd co-organised a highly interactive and innovative workshop at Nestlé’s gleaming Product Technology Centre in York, right next to the Kit Kat factory.  The workshop, instigated by the N8 family of Universities across the North of England, was designed to explore potential sources of feedstock for sustainable production of monomers and polymers.

A range of companies and academic institutions were represented, with informative presentations from Nestlé, Akzo Nobel, METRC, York University’s Green Chemistry department, Link2Energy and the Polymer Centre at the University of Sheffield, among others.  The insight fed into a participatory session, with the aim of sketching out a roadmap for taking known biowastes through innovative technologies through to useful products or building blocks.
